HARTFORD, Conn. – In their season-opening regatta, the Wesleyan women's crew team saw the varsity 8 boat take fifth place out of 19 crews in the Women's Open 8+ on Sunday along the Connecticut River in Hartford.
Competing against a host of schools across multiple NCAA Divisions, the varsity 8 clocked in with a time of 13:35.386 in the event. The Cardinals finished behind UConn, Williams, Trinity, and Sacred Heart in the first official competition of the 2025-26 season.
Wesleyan also fielded a 2
nd varsity 8 boat and 3
rd varsity 8 boat in the same event. The 2V8 placed ninth out of 19 crews with a time of 14:19.111 while the Cardinals' 3V8 finished in 18
th place with a time of 15:20.243.
The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday, October 19 with the famed Head of the Charles in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
