NEW LONDON, CT. - The Wesleyan men's hockey team picked up the first win over the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Conn. College in NESCAC action, 3-2, on the road in the first meeting between the two teams this season.
Looking to rebound from a loss to Tufts on Friday night, the Cardinals regrouped and saw a scoreless first period flash with an offensive edge awarded to the Cardinals.

The Cardinals took the lead in the third period, nearing the midway point as
Jack DesRuisseaux '29 scored his first of the season.
Danny Judge '26 and
Danny Markham '28 earned assists on the go-ahead goal. The final Cardinals goal, scored by
Owen Mahar '29, was shorthanded as the Cardinals were on the penalty kill, having been called for delay of game.
Pete Stranger's final goal of the game was a man-advantage goal for the Camels, but the effort wasn't enough to put away the Cardinals. DesRuisseaux led the way with three shots on goal.
In goal,
Patrick McDevitt '28 earned the win for the Cardinals, recording 29 saves. Beauton finished with 21.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Nov. 21, when they host Hamilton at home at 7 p.m.
