WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. – Leading the Wesleyan women's swimming and diving team, freshman
Meghan Jo collected three Top 5 finishes as the Cardinals competed against Williams College and Springfield College at Williams. Wesleyan defeated Springfield 224-73 but fell to Williams, 187-105.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals had a strong finish in the season opener, scoring handfuls of Top 5 placements across the 16 events. Jo led the way, placing third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.35), and taking fifth in both the 1,000-yard free (11:21.05) and 500-yard free (5:37.82).
- Elena Baird '26 and James LaCroix '27 placed back-to-back in the 1,000-yard free and the 500-yard free. In the 1,000, Baird placed third (11:10.15) while LaCroix was fourth (11:19.94). In the 500, Baird again placed third (5:30.79) and LaCroix fourth (5:33.63).
- In the 100-yard backstroke, Mia Dezelic '27 placed second (59.54) before placing third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.02).
- Sara Bohacek '26 placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.72).
- In the diving pool, Ella Hall '28 placed second in the one-meter (216.50) and third in the three-meter (229.60).
- Combined for the 200-yard medley relay, Dezelic, Bohacek, Izzy Paez '26, and Zoe Kuhn '26 combined for third place (1:50.23). IN the 400-yard free relay, the same team placed first (3:44.27) while Anne Conway '26, Charlotte Fishman '29, Alexandra Loo '29, and Allie Woo '29 placed second (3:51.90).
The Cardinals return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 22, when they face Bates on the road at 1 p.m.
