MIDDLETOWN, CT. - Picking up a second victory in two days, the Wesleyan women's squash team swept the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season with an 8-0 win over Vassar College on Sunday morning, opening the season with a 2-0 record from the Rosenbaum Squash Center.
The Cardinals picked up 3-0 sweeps across the lineup, many of which finished in under 20 minutes.
Jaclyn Dichter '26, going five games at #3, still wrapped her match up in under 40 minutes.
Caroline Caiati '28 was the first to finish at 10 minutes, going 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 over Eaint May at #7. At #8,
Ellie Tiedemann '28 dropped just one point to Elta Bajrami, running 11-0, 11-0, 11-1.
Frances Guenther '28 wrapped a 11-1, 11-0, 11-1 match over Ariadni Markantonaki Kouleta at #6. Making easy work of Iesha DeSilva,
Leandra Sze '26 was 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 at #5. On court #4,
Katherine Risden '28 defeated Lexi Donshik 11-3, 11-2, 11-2. Topping the lineup,
Mira Bakshi '26 pulled out all of the stops against Charlotte Tobin, tallying 11-2, 11-3, and 11-5 final scores. Facing Hope Fireison at #2,
Aanya Anand '26 finished 11-3, 11-2, 11-5.
Dichter was the first out of the gate, taking game one 11-3, but fell to Adriana Ordaya in game two, 5-11. Dichter rallied in extra points in game three, winning 12-10 only for Ordaya to tie the match up again 8-11. With an 11-5 finish, Dichter earned the victory.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they travel to Middlebury for a 10 a.m. start.
