Three Cardinals Earn All-Region Honors

Adams and Smith make First Team, Pace earns Second Team nod

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan field hockey team saw three players – Georgia Adams '26, Emily Smith '29, and Audrey Pace '26 – earn All-Region II honors as announced on Wednesday morning by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Adams and Smith both made the All-Region First Team while Pace was named to the Second Team. The is the third career All-Region selection for Adams and Pace while Smith is the first-ever Cardinal to earn All-Region honors in their debut season. Adams earns First Team All-Region honors for the third time in her career while Pace is a two-time Second Team All-Region selection, having also made the All-Region First Team as a sophomore.
 
Adams graduates as one of the top players in program history, closing out her career with the second-highest career point total in the history of Wesleyan field hockey while also becoming the team's first-ever three-time First Team All-Region selection. Adams finished her senior year with 26 points on nine goals and a career-high eight assists in 21 games (all starts). There of her nine goals went down as game-winners while she never missed a game, playing in all 70 possible games (68 consecutive starts), over her four-year career. She finished with 110 career points on 45 goals and 20 assists.
 
The engine in the Wesleyan midfield unit, Smith contributed both in the attacking midfield and on the defensive end all year. The 2025 NESCAC Rookie of the Year ranked fourth on the team in points with five goals and six assists while ranking second in shots with 61. Smith played in all 21 games (starting 17) and was on the field for 1092 minutes while featuring in both the attacking and defensive penalty corner units for Wesleyan. Honored as both the NESCAC Player of the Week and National D3 Offensive Player of the Week on October 20, Smith earned both awards following a weekend that saw her assist on the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Williams that clinched the Little Three Championship as well as scoring both goals, including the overtime game-winner, in a 2-1 win at Middlebury. Smith became the first Cardinal first-year in team history to earn All-NESCAC honors and was the first-ever Cardinal to earn a major individual NESCAC award (Player of the Year or Rookie of the Year).
 
A four-year starter and three-time All-Region selection, Pace graduates as one of the best at her position in team history. Pace completed a career year in 2025, setting single-season career-highs in multiple categories including goals against average (1.02), save percentage (.806), wins (16), and minutes played (1175), while she helped lead the Cardinals to a single-season team record 10 shutouts throughout the season. Pace allowed one goal or less in 16 of the 21 games throughout the season while she posted a season-high 11 saves in a win over Bowdoin and had a five-save shutout in the Little Three title clinching win at Williams. She graduates with a career 1.81 goals against average, 362 saves, .759 save percentage, and 39 wins in 68 games played.
