SPRINGFIELD, MA. – Leading a group of seven members of the Wesleyan women's track and field team,
Juliette Sullivan '27 walked away with a first-place victory in the women's 60m at the Triangle Invitational, hosted by Springfield College, as Wesleyan finished with eight Top 10 finishes.
While Sullivan's performance on Saturday afternoon may not be a personal best time for the sprinter, Sullivan still topped the competition. Sullivan's first-place victory clocked in at 7.95 as she crossed the finish line. Sullivan doubled on the day as she placed third in the long jump field event, coming in at 5.32m.
The Cardinals closed the 800m with two top finishes.
Oona Vali '27 placed fifth with a personal best 2:28.06 and
Virginia Lustenberger '26 placed eighth at 2:44.20. Placing second in the mile race,
Virginia Lessner '28 clocked a final time of 5:18.01, a new personal best as
Sofia Magnera '28 finished five spots behind in seventh with a 5:37.21.
Alexandra Simon '27 claimed second place in the 3000m, running a new record time of 10:34.75. Throwing for 10.62m,
Naomi McGadney '27 set her own record in the women's shot put and placed seventh.
The Cardinals return to action on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, at the New England Division III Championships in Boston.
