WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Competing in the Williams Quad Duals on Saturday, the No. 23 Wesleyan wrestling team lost matches to No. 25 Williams (22-18) and No. 19 Ithaca (21-18) by a combined seven points before dominating Oneonta 49-3 to end the day with a win. The Cardinals move to 8-3 in the dual portion of the season following the three matches on the day.

Starting against NESCAC rival Williams, it was the Cardinals who took command from the just, with wins in three straight bouts to start the dual.
Chris Hong '27 handled Christopher Colon in a 4-1 decision at 125 before
Max Martinez '25 defeated Jack Napeloni 8-2 at 133 and
Hayden Myers '27 kept the momentum going with a 17-1 tech fall triumph over Tylor Stubbs to make it 11-0 Wesleyan.

The Ephs started their comeback with wins in four of the next five matches, including a pin at 157, to take a 16-14 lead.
CJ Shea '25 managed to break the scoring run with a 5-1 win at 165 over Fisher Stites. With his team trailing by two,
Aris Dashiell '25 commanded his match at 197 with a 16-2 major decision win, putting the Cardinals in front 18-16 heading into the decisive heavyweight bout. In that 285 bout, it was Thomas Goodwin from Williams who got a match-deciding pin to win it 22-18 for the Ephs.

The script flipped in the Ithaca dual match, with the Bombers jumping out to a 11-4 lead following wins in three of the first four bouts. Myers landed the first Wesleyan win at 141, defeating Will Bentrim 9-0, before the Cardinals landed a 17-1 tech fall win at 157 from
Shailen Savur '25 and Shea triumphed over Konrad Parker (ranked No. 7 nationally at 165), with a 4-1 decision victory.

Ithaca retook the lead, managing 10 points from the next two bouts, holding a 21-12 lead heading into the 197 bout. Needing a win, Dashiell delivered with a 8-7 decision victory, cutting the deficit to 21-15. Then in the heavyweight bout,
Will Orso '26 defeated Charlie Turner but the Bomber limited the scoring throughout in a 1-0 decision win for Orso that accounted for the 21-18 final score in favor of Ithaca.

Not to be deterred from the two close defeats, Wesleyan beat Oneonota 49-3 in what was the largest win for the Cardinals over the Red Dragons in 29 all-time meetings. In a match the Cardinals led 24-0 after four bouts, Hong, Martinez, Myers, and
Ike Guttentag '26 each landed pins to start.

Savur toppled Ryley Monica at 157 in a 7-4 decision win before Shea landed his third win of the day, landing a 16-1 tech fall win. Wins from
Andrew Maiorini '25 at 174,
Roman Martinez '27 at 184, and Orso by pin at 285 closed the match in style for the Cardinals.

Both Shea and Myers went 3-0 on the day for Wesleyan while Savur had a 2-0 mark.
