No. 8 Women’s Lacrosse Completes Florida Trip with Another Win, Defeating Stevenson 14-5

Cardinals win their fifth straight, allowing five goals or less in all five wins

PANAMA BEACH CITY, Fla. – The No. 8 ranked Wesleyan women's lacrosse team completed their stay in Florida with another win, defeating Stevenson 14-5 on Wednesday afternoon from Pete Edwards Field. The Cardinals finished the trip with a 2-0 record while Wesleyan improves to 5-1 on the season, having won five straight games overall.

In a game that the Cardinals dominated throughout, Wesleyan set the tone from the jump, outshooting Stevenson 12-3 in the first quarter while committing just one turnover and holding a 4-1 advantage on draw controls. Kiara Tangney '25 opened the goal scoring with an unassisted marker, beginning a four-goal burst in a span of just four minutes as Mya Waryas '27, Becca Dibble '26, and Addie Cummings '26 all found the back of the net for Wesleyan.

Stevenson got on the board with a goal 1:38 into the second quarter, but that was the lone tally in the first half for the Mustangs as the Cardinals scored five unanswered to head into halftime leading 9-1. Tangney netted her second goal of the game in the 5-0 second quarter run while Dylan Green '26, Sam DeLeo '25, Elle Priesing '26, and Alix Riley '25 each scored their first of the day to spot the Cardinals an eight-goal lead at the break.

While the Cardinal offense chased in on their opportunities, the Wesleyan defense played their role as Stevenson had just one goal and seven shots in the first half. Goalkeeper Izzy Weintraub '26 made saves on five of the six shots on-target attempted by Mustangs in the first 30 minutes.

Green scored on the first Wesleyan possession of the second half and Priesing netted her second of the game with 9:10 remaining in the frame that made it 11-2 Cardinals. After that Priesing marker, neither side scored for more than 12 minutes until the Mustangs scored first in the fourth quarter with 12:09 remaining.

Riley then took a feed from Cummings to make it 12-3 Wesleyan before Cummings found the back of the net to make it a 10-goal deficit before ultimately finishing off a 13-5 win.

Green led the Cardinals with four points on two goals and two assists. Cummings went for two goals and one assist while DeLeo also had three points (one goal, two assists). Tangney, Priesing, and Riley each scored twice.

Kyra Browne '26 was excellent all afternoon on draws, finishing with seven as Wesleyan held a 17-5 advantage over Stevenson for the game. Lilly Stoller '26 led the defense with two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Weintraub finished with seven saves and three goals allowed in 50:54 minutes of work. April Rowe '27 relieved Weintraub over the final 9:06 of play and had two saves on four shots.
