CK Giancola '24, G'25 of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Giancola's second Player of the Week award for the season and the third of his career.
Giancola unloaded for 11 goals and three assists in two games last week, including a five-goal effort in a dominant 15-6 win over Bates in the NESCAC Quarterfinal round on Saturday. Giancola scored five against the Bobcats and added two assists for a seven-point game. It marks his fifth straight postseason game with four or more goals, dating back to last season. The graduate student also scored six times to go along with one assist for another seven-point effort in the regular season finale, a 19-9 win at Conn. College. He sits third in the NESCAC in goals per game (3.36) and fifth in points per game (4.21) this season.
The Cardinals are in the NESCAC Semifinal round for the 16th time in team history and will face two-seed Bowdoin on Saturday at 3 PM in Medford, Massachusetts.
