Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 6 Women’s Lacrosse Falls at No. 2 Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. – The No. 6 Wesleyan women's lacrosse team suffered a 15-4 defeat at No. 2 Tufts on Saturday afternoon from Bello Field. Wesleyan (6-4, 2-4 NESCAC) drops their third straight game while the Jumbos (11-0, 6-0 NESCAC) remain unbeaten.

Wesleyan came out with purpose in this one, getting a goal from Kiara Tangney '25 on the first offensive possession of the game. Tufts answered back with goals from Allie Zorn and Ella Lesperance, only to see Tangney even the score at 2-2 with her second tally of the quarter.

From that point forward, however, the Jumbos took complete control as Tufts scored 13 of the final 15 goals scored in this contest, ultimately pulling out the double-digit win. Izzy Weintraub '26 played well in net, making a career-high 12 saves for the Cardinals including seven in the first half alone. Her play kept Wesleyan in the game, but the Cardials could not overcome a 27-7 shot disparity over the final three quarters combined.

Tangney netted three goals for her first hat trick of the season. Lilly Stoller '26, Madeline Johnson '28, and Molly Simon '26 each finished with two caused turnovers while Catherin Vien '25 recorded four ground balls.

Wesleyan is back in action on Sunday with a non-conference game against MIT starting at 1 PM.
