NEW LONDON, CT. – Jumping 10 spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national rankings, the No. 14 Wesleyan men's tennis team took Connecticut College to task on Sunday morning, putting away a 5-2 NESCAC victory from the Luce Field House.
The Cardinals swept doubles play from the Camels (10-7 overall, 1-5 NESCAC), earning the team an early lead with the first point of the morning. At No. 1,
Harry Collomb '26 and
Max Litton '26 went 6-3 over Walker Mulligan and Wolf Sohlberg. Another 6-3 victory went to
Chase Kasday '26 and
Brett Keeling '27 at No. 2, defeating James Serhant and Sigmund Winiecki.
Max Lustgarten '25 and
Jex Frankel '27 earned a 6-1 final at No. 3 over Nikhil Agarwal and Arjun Premkumar.
Following his doubles win, Collomb went on to win his No. 2 matchup against Jules Taylor-Kerman in a closely watched 6-4, 6-3 match final. Litton filled the No. 4 spot in the lineup, matching Collomb's final score in another tight match against Sohlberg, going 6-4, 6-3 on the books.
Facing Agarwal again, Lustgarten as the No. 3, allowed just one point in set one before Agarwal returned four in set two with Lustgarten winning 6-1, 6-4. Kasday at No. 6 was forced to an extra game as set one was tied up at six. Kasday earned the extra point to win the set and ultimately won the match 7-6, 6-3.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 12, when they travel to Tufts for a 2 p.m. NESCAC start.
