MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's golf team continues to make history this season, with
Amanda Phillips '28 and
Mia Holbrook '27 earning All-NESCAC honors, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. Phillips earns a First Team selection while Holbrook is a Second Team honoree, making history as the first two All-NESCAC selections in Wesleyan women's golf history.
Phillips burst onto the scene back in September when she shot a two-day team record 146, finishing in fourth place overall out of 80 golfers at the Bowdoin Invitational in what was her first collegiate appearance. The first-year has since gone on to place in the Top 10 in four consecutive tournaments this spring. Phillips placed third out of 34 at the Vassar Invitational II on March 30 and followed with a seventh place finish out of 74 at the Jack Leaman Invitational, fourth place out of 60 at the Williams Spring Invitational, and most-recently a ninth placing showing out of 39 at the NESCAC Championship.
Phillips shot a -2 (71) on Sunday in the third round of the NESCAC Championship, tied for the low round of any golfer in the field, moving her up 12 spots in the player leaderboard to finish in ninth place and keep her Top 10 streak intact. Currently ranked No. 49 in the nation with an average round of 74.9 in 14 total rounds, Phillips earned a spot into the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship, becoming the first individual qualifier to compete at nationals in team history.

Holbrook has been outstanding all throughout the spring season, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the NESCAC Championship where she shot 79-74-73 (226) for a +7 in the three-day tournament and just one stroke behind the individual champion. That second place finish capped an outstanding campaign that saw Holbrook finish either first or second on the player leaderboard in three of the five tournaments Wesleyan competed in. Holbrook added a seventh place finish out of 74 golfers at the Jack Leaman Invitational to give her five Top 10 finishes in nine total appearances in the 2024-25 seaosn.
Holbrook posted a scoring average of 75.9 in 16 total rounds in her sophomore year and is currently ranked No. 56 nationally and No. 17 in the region. At the NESCAC Championship, Holbrook shined with nine total birdies across the three days including seven over the final two rounds combined.
