Tangney and Weintraub Named USA Lacrosse Second Team All-Americans

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – USA Lacrosse named its NCAA Division III Women's All-Americans last Wednesday and a pair of Cardinals made the Second Team. Wesleyan women's lacrosse midfielder Kiara Tangney '25 and goalkeeper Izzy Weintraub '26 are both listed on the Second Team. This is the second All-American honor of Tangney's career as she was previously a Third Team honoree last season. Voted as one of the eight best midfielders in the nation, Tangney continued to provide elite two-way play for the Cardinals, totaling 35 goals and six assists for 41 points to go along with 21 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers, and 38 draw controls in 19 games played for Wesleyan in 2025. She tied for the team-lead in goals and ranked second in draw controls, finishing her career with 103 career points in 75 games played at midfield.

Weintraub elevates to a Second Team All-American honor, after being named Honorable Mention in 2024. Voted as the second-best goalkeeper in the nation, Weintraub was outstanding in 2025, finishing the year with a 7.40 goals against average and .507 save percentage while starting all 21 games and playing over 1,110 minutes in cage. The junior produced 12 games with a save percentage of .500 or better this season while totaling 10+ saves five times including a career-high 12 at Tufts on April 5.
