Women’s Soccer Draws Scoreless with Bates

LEWISTON, ME. – Traveling north for a Saturday morning NESCAC matchup, the Wesleyan women's soccer team closed out a scoreless draw with Bates College at the Russell Street Field as the defense showed out with zero shots allowed.

Despite a dominant attack effort from the kickoff, the Cardinals could not find the back of the net through 90 minutes. The Cardinals, for their efforts, loaded seven shots on Bobcats' goalkeeper Sidney Litney with 20 total shots on the match. Litney stood her ground in goal, making all seven saves, the highlight of the day for the Bobcats.

Offensively, the Bobcats could not gain ground. The Cardinals defense, anchored by Tori Rideau-Winds '26, Brianna Garcia '28, and Sheridan Snow '28, did not allow a single registered shot by the Bobcats. Molly Brumbach '26 served the entire game clock in goal and earned the draw with zero saves. Brumbach is 3-0-2 on the season, but tonight's matchup serves as a third shutout.

Waverly Meyers '26, Maria Utz '27, and Meredith Feiner '28 combined for 12 of the 20 shots with four apiece.

The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23, when they host Trinity at 6 p.m.
