AMHERST, MA. – Opening the 2025 campaign with the Little Three Championship on Saturday morning, the Wesleyan women's cross country team put on a showing against Williams College and Amherst College, marking three Top 20 performances.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals placed third out of the three competing institutions with a score of 81. Williams won at 25 while Amherst placed second at 35.
- Amherst's Hannah Stephenson placed 1st, running a 14:49.0
- Leading the way, Virginia Lessner '28 placed 14th, averaging a 6:21 mile as she crossed the finish line at 15:47.2.
- Falling just three spots behind Lessner at 17 was Clare Mahedy '29 with a final time of 15:51.4.
- Closing out the Top 20 was Stephanie Ager '26, finishing the race with a final 15:58.8
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they host the Cardinal Invitational beginning at 11 a.m.
