Women’s Soccer Upended by Conn. in Season Finale

NEW LONDON, CT. -  The Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to Conn. College in the regular season finale, 2-0, on Wednesday evening at Tempel Green, as Conn. scored twice in the first half to secure the NESCAC victory.

The #7 seeded Cardinals will face #2 Tufts on Saturday, Oct. 31, in the NESCAC Championship quarterfinals.

The Camels opened the scoring in the 15th minute, Danica Zicha converting a pass to give a 1-0 advantage. The Camels doubled their lead in the 23rd minute when Mae Mastrullo finished a feed, sending the game into the half with a two-goal lead.

Working to mount a second-half comeback, the Cardinals generated seven shots after the break and finished with a 12-5 advantage in total shots. With the Cardinals unable to find the back of the net, the Camels held on for the shutout. Savannah Hyon '30 and Romi Schreiber '28 each managed a shot on goal, leading the Cardinals.

The Cardinals finish the regular season with a 9-6 overall record and 4-6 finish in NESCAC play.
