Women’s Hockey Eclipsed by Trinity in 2-0 Shutout

HARTFORD, CT. – Facing in-state rivals in the final road game of the regular season, the Wesleyan women's ice hockey team fell in NESCAC action on Friday evening in a 2-0 shutout at the hands of Trinity College.

Cardinals goaltender Jenna Guglielmi '27 stood tall in goal, leading the Cardinals as she stopped 27 of 29 shots taken by the Bantams.

The Bantams (6-13-3 overall, 3-9-3 NESCAC) struck first in the opening period, converting on the power play as the Cardinals (6-15-2 overall, 3-11-1 NESCAC) were called for a hooking minor. Livia Angioletti was credited with the goal.

With a scoreless second period completed, the Cardinals entered the third hoping to tie the game up at one. Nearing the halfway mark, the Bantams took to the penalty box on a tripping call but would make the most of the Cardinals power play with a short-handed goal. The goal was scored by Lillian Cassidy.

Leading all Cardinals with four shots on goal was Dylan Green '26. Caroline Kee '26 finished the evening with 10 draw wins, a team high on the evening.

The Cardinals return home on Saturday, Feb. 21, facing the Bantams once again at 3 p.m. in the regular season finale as they celebrate the senior class.
