HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Wesleyan men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 loss to No. 11 Amherst College on Monday morning, opening Spring Break play as the team was led by
Brett Keeling '27.
The Mammoths clinched the opening point of the match, taking doubles play with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, but the No. 3 pairing of Keeling and
Max Litton '26 outlasted Aldiyar Abzhan and Rex Harrison in a 7-5 victory for the Cardinals.
Slotted at No. 5, Keeling went three sets with Harrison, falling in set one before tying the match at one. Running a 10-8 tiebreak campaign in set three, Keeling prevailed and finished with the 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) win.
The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, March 17, when they face No. 4 Denison at 10 a.m.
