Men’s Tennis Falls 6-1 to Denison

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -  Led by freshman Tommy Jani with a win at singles No. 6, the Wesleyan men's tennis team fell in non-conference action to Denison University on Tuesday afternoon in a 6-1 loss as Spring Break play continues.

Sitting at No. 6 in the lineup, Jani ran three sets against Anthony Payiavlas after tying the match up at one. Jani finished with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) final having bested Payiavlas in the tiebreak.

Despite the Big Red clinching the doubles point with two wins at No. 1 and No. 3, the Cardinals were victorious at No. 2 as Ryuto Saito '29 and Chase Kasday '26 cleared a 7-5 win over Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang.

The Cardinals face North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 17, with action beginning at 12 p.m.
