MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Wesleyan University baseball team ran back seven runs in the second inning, but it was not enough to outlast Ithaca College in a 12-11 loss on Tuesday afternoon. James Marsden '26 led the way with two runs and three hits, crossing the 100-career hit threshold.

DeWolf with Jonah Timmons '27 at the plate. The Bombers made quick work to take the lead, scoring two at the bottom of the inning.

The Cardinal heroics in the second began with Jake Acker '27 taking a walk to first before Sebastian Ortiz '28 loaded the bases with Oliver Kwan '28 on second. DeWolf was awarded his own walk, advancing Acker home to tie the game at two. Kwan returned the lead to the Cardinals, reaching with William Moore '26 biting a single to force a pitching change. Marsden doubled again, sending Ortiz and DeWolf home and was followed by a home run outing for Timmons allowing Moore and Marsden room to score.

Cutting the Cardinals' lead to just four runs, the Bombers answered with two runs and ran back two more in the fourth inning as the lead dwindled to two runs. The Cardinals pushed the 8-6 lead to 10-6 as Timmons and Marsden scored on Sam Hensinger's '26 dropped fly. Hensinger crushed his own run on Kato Mangum's '28 single. Undaunted, the Bombers tied the game up at the bottom of the inning, putting five runs against pitcher Colin Lautzenheiser '28.
