MALDEN, Mass. – The winning run continued for the No. 2 Wesleyan men's crew varsity 8 boat as the Cardinals toppled No. 3 Tufts and No. 7 Bates for a pair of wins on the Malden River on Saturday in the Malden Racing Series hosted by the Jumbos.
Opening the day against the defending national champion Tufts, Wesleyan's varsity 8 secured a three-second win with a time of 6:36.3 compared to 6:39.3 for the Jumbos. Racing again three hours later, the Cardinals turned in the best time of any boat in the competition on Saturday, racing to the finish line in 6:28.4 to best No. 7 Bates by open water as the Bobcats finished in 6:46.8.

rd varsity 8, and 4
th varsity 8 boats were all in the water on Saturday and each landed one win out of two races on the day. The 2V8, 3V8, and 4V8 boats all fell to the Jumbos but the 2V8 and 3V8 landed wins over Boston College in the afternoon while the 4V8 defeated Bates by more than 14 seconds in the last race of the day.
Wesleyan has a week to prepare for a showdown with Williams on Onota Lake next Saturday.
