EAST HADDAM, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's golf team finished in ninth place out of 10 teams at the 2026 NESCAC Championship hosted at the Fox Hopyard Golf Course. Williams captured the NESCAC title while Tufts finished as the runner-up.
Wesleyan shot 338-318-317 (+121) over the 54-hole, three-day tournament that started on Friday and concluded on Sunday. Following an opening round 338, the Cardinals shot 20 strokes better on Saturday and 21 strokes better on Sunday in round 3.
Gavin Sendar' 28 led the charge for the Cardinals, finishing 83-77-80 (+27) to finish in a tie for 33
rd place on the player leaderboard. Sendar carded three birdies on the front 9 on Friday while he finished with 12 pars on Saturday and he closed with eight pars and two birdies on Sunday.
Next to finish was
Lev Abramson '28 who put in an 84-80-77 (+28) which was good enough for a tie for 36
th place. Abramson eagled the par 5 5
th hole on Friday, while he had two birdies in both round 2 and round 3. He shaved four strokes off his round 1 total on Saturday and was seven better on Sunday in round 3.
Fisher Hirsch '26 finished his career with an 84-87-76 (+34) as his round 3 on Sunday was the best round turned in over the weekend by any Cardinal. Hirsch shot +5 (76) in a round that had 11 pars and one birdie.
Rounding out the lineup for Wesleyan was
Johnathan Harlukowicz '27 who finished 87-81-84 (+39) while
Zach Liu went 89-80-87 (+43).
