Softball Sees Lennon and Cassel-Siskind Named NFCA All-Region

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Seniors Molly Lennon '26 and Rebecca Cassel-Sisind '26 of the Wesleyan softball team were named All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Friday afternoon. Lennon earns First Team All-Region recognition while Cassel-Siskind is a Third Team choice. This is Lennon's third career All-Region honor while Cassel-Siskind is a two-time All-Region honoree.

Lennon was one of the top producers offensively in the NESCAC all season, recording a .434 batting average, .536 on-base percentage, .858 slugging percentage, and 1.394 OPS. She ranks first in the NESCAC in slugging, second in OPS, third in on-base, and seventh in batting average on the year. Lennon also ranks second in the NESCAC in home runs (nine) and doubles (13), fourth in triples (four), and third in total bases (97). Lennon made history late in the season, setting a single-season program record with nine home runs while she also closes out her career as the program's all-time home run leader, hitting 17 over her four years at Wesleyan. A four-year starter for Wesleyan at second base, Lennon enjoyed a career year in 2026, establishing career-highs in nearly every hitting including batting average, hits (51), doubles, home runs, RBI (30), slugging, walks, hit-by-pitches (three), and on-base percentage. This is her first time making All-Region First Team as she was a Second Team selection in 2025 and Third Team honoree in 2024.

A defensive stalwart out in center field and a speed demon on the base paths, Cassel-Siskind makes the All-Region Third Team for the second straight year. The senior outfielder hit .298 in 33 games played (all starts) for the Cardinals this year, recording 28 hits, two doubles, four triples, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored, 12 walks, four hit-by-pitches, and 20 stolen bases. Cassel-Siskind ranks fourth in the NESCAC in steals while she recorded just one error in 76 total chances out in center field this year, finishing with a .987 fielding percentage. Cassel-Siskind recorded five multi-hit games in the 2026 season while she finished the year with at least one hit in nine of the last 10 games for the Cardinals. She went 2-for-4 with two RBI against Swarthmore (March 13), scored three runs with two walks and two steals against Bowdoin (March 21), went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two steals against Albertus Magnus (April 7), and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in games against West Conn (April 29) and Middlebury (May 2).
