Agnes Guggenheim To Compete in NCAA Women's Individual Championship

MIDDLETOWN, CT. - Following all-conference honors as the 2026 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Wesleyan women's tennis freshman Agnes Guggenheim will compete in the 2026 NCAA DIII Women's Individual Championships in Chattanooga, TN., beginning May 23 at the Champions Tennis Club as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday, May 6.

Ranked 22nd in the nation, Guggenheim has been a standout for the Cardinals in her first season with a 16-7 overall record. Serving as the primary No. 2 with a 9-4 campaign. While asked to sit at No. 1 several occasions this season, Guggenheim finished with an impressive 4-1 finish. At the 2025 NEWITT tournament, Guggenheim defeated MIT's Fiona Lee, ranked 15th, 0-6, 6-4, 10-4.

Earning all-conference honors for the first time, Agnes Guggenheim is just the third Cardinal in program history to garner NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors, joining Jackie Soloveychik '27 and Eudice Chong '18. Guggenheim was also named a First Team Singles and Doubles honoree by the NESCAC.

The Cardinals finished the regular season and conference tournament play with an 18-2 overall record as the undefeated NESCAC Champions. The tournament, hosted by the University of the South, welcomes the Cardinals for the 11th time and the 10th year in a row.
