All four honorees earn Academic All-American honors for the first time in their respective careers

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Four Cardinal student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Communicators this week as Academic All-Americans in the at-large team category. Will Miller '26 (men's lacrosse) and Hayden Myers '26 (wrestling) are the male Academic All-American honorees while Izzy Weintraub '26 (women's lacrosse) and Lindsey Diomede '26 (women's lacrosse) are the female Academic All-Americans for Wesleyan. In the at-large program, institutions are limited to six nominees per gender per school, for a maximum total of six men's at-large candidates and a maximum of six women's at-large candidates. The list of NCAA eligible sports in the at-large program includes: men's and women's fencing, m/w golf, m/w gymnastics, m/w ice hockey, m/w lacrosse, m/w rifle, m/w skiing, m/w water polo, m/w wrestling, men's volleyball, women's beach volleyball, women's crew, and women's field hockey. Eligibility for nominations requires a student-athlete to be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA while serving as a starter or significant reserve.

Miller is a First Team Academic All-American, graduating in May with a 3.99 GPA as an Economics major. Miller tied for the team-lead in goals while he was recognized as a Third Team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Myers is on the Second Team Academic All-American list, having graduated in just three academic years at Wesleyan in May with a 3.98 GPA majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.  Myers was named the New England Wrestling Association Scholar Athlete of the Year while he is a three-time NEWA Scholar All-American and he earned All-American honors on the mat with a fifth-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Div. III Championships in the 141-pound bracket.

The women's lacrosse team saw a pair of Academic All-Americans as Weintraub is a Second Team pick and Diomede is a Third Team honoree. The 2026 Intercollege Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association pick for National Div. III Goalkeeper of the Year, Weintraub graduated with a 3.66 GPA as a dual major in Psychology and Science & Technology Studies. Weintraub rewrote the record book at Wesleyan, finishing her career as a three-time All-American while sporting the best save percentage and goals against average of any Cardinal goalkeeper in program history. Diomede had one of the most-impressive campaigns of any field player in program history, earning 2026 IWLCA Midfielder of the Year honors with single-season program record totals in caused turnovers (84) and ground balls (67). Diomede graduated in May with a 3.69 GPA as an Economics major.

These four Cardinals join Aiden Londergan '27 of men's soccer and Leila Epstein '26 of women's tennis, bringing the yearly total to six Academic All-Americans for Wesleyan.
