Men's Soccer Falters in 1-0 Loss to Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, ME. - The No. 1 nationally ranked Wesleyan University men's soccer team battled Bowdoin College to a late game winner in the 79th minute, with Wesleyan taking the 1-0 setback on Saturday afternoon at Pickard Field.

The Cardinals exited halftime generating seven shots in the second half after recording four in the opening 45 minutes. The Cardinals put four second-half attempts on target, but Bowdoin goalkeeper Oliver King turned aside each chance to preserve the shutout.

Bowdoin broke through with 11:50 remaining in regulation with a goal from William Fowler.

The Cardinals finished the afternoon with an 11-8 advantage in total shots. Sam Adiutori '28 made four saves in goal for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 22, when they take on Western New England on the road at 4:30 p.m.
