Eudice Chong '18 is set to add another notable chapter to her trailblazing tennis career, becoming the first NCAA Division III player to compete in the US Open main doubles draw since Matt Seeberger (UC Santa Cruz) and Eric Butorac (Gustavus Adolphus College), both in men's doubles, and the first Division III woman ever to appear at the tournament in a main draw.

The former Wesleyan University star cemented her place in collegiate tennis history after winning an unprecedented four consecutive NCAA Division III singles championships with the Cardinals from 2015 through 2018.
At the US Open, Chong will now showcase her game with doubles partner Yang Zhaoxuan on one of the largest stages in tennis with action beginning Sept. 3 through Sept. 11. Her appearance marks a historic milestone for both her career and Division III tennis.

Chong made her 2026 Grand Slam debut at Roland Garros this year, reaching the third round with doubles partner Veronika Erjavec and blazed through to the second round of Wimbledon with Anastasia Tikhonova. Representing Hong Kong, Chong is the just the second player from the region to reach the US Open doubles, and the first since Patricia Hy's debut nearly four decades ago.

Since graduating, Chong has developed into an accomplished professional, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 213 in singles and No. 58 in doubles. She has captured multiple ITF titles and earned success on the WTA Tour, including a WTA doubles title.
