GAME NOTES

QB Paul Broderick connected on 13 of 22 passes for 193 yards and three TDs, two to Tom McDavitt of 48 and 30 yards, to help Trinity pull away from Wesleyan in the second half and go on to a 37-13 victory in the season finale for both teams.

McDavitt finished the game with six catches for 118 yards as Trinity extended its 14-7 halftime advantage to a 30-7 edge by the end of the third quarter. Closing out the year with a 6-2 mark, Trinity improved its streak of consecutive winning seasons to 13 while defeating Wesleyan (4-4) for the sixth straight year.

Though Wesleyan grabbed an early 7-0 edge on a 30-yard pass play from Dave D'Onofrio to Tim Vessel, Broderick hit McDavitt from 48 yards out at 11:44 of the second quarter to tie the score, then put Trinity ahead for good at 5:14 of the period with a 16-yard strike to Mike Girardi.

McDavitt made it 17-7 with a 26-yard field goal at 4:21 of the third quarter before snagging his 30-yard TD reception a minute later for the 24-7 lead. With his two TDs, four extra points and a field goal, McDavitt finished the game with 19 points.

Jeff Devanney intercepted a Wesleyan option pitch on the final play of the third quarter and raced 68 yards for a 30-7 Trinity edge.

Mike Muraca got Wesleyan's final points when he scored his 15th TD of the season, a Wesleyan record, on a four-yard run at 13:01 of the fourth quarter after setting up the TD with a 55-yard run. He finished the day with 98 yards on 21 carries.

Trinity picked up its final points on a 48-yard TD run by Mike Wallace as Trinity collected 415 yards of total offense, 222 on the ground.
