1984 - Kathy Keeler '78 is the only Wesleyan graduate to win an Olympic gold medal, stroking the women's eight crew team to a top finish at the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles
1986-87 - Allegra Burton '87 has the distinction of becoming Wesleyan's first woman to earn NCAA All-American honors in two sports (cross country, track & field) during the same year.
1994 - Women's Soccer wins Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Championship - Wesleyan's first women's team sport conference champion
1994 - Holly Sorensen '95 (swimming & diving) is the first NCAA individual woman champion in any sport at Wesleyan, winning the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle titles in 1994 (also won the 500 free in 1995)
1999 and 2000 - Field Hockey ECAC New England Champions
2000 - Volleyball wins ECAC North Region Division III Tournament
2000-01 - Women's Crew qualifies for NCAA Championships (First Wesleyan women's team to compete at NCAA national championship event)
2000-01 - Women's Tennis qualifies for NCAA Division III Tournament
2001 - Volleyball qualifies for NCAA Division III Tournament
2003 - Jenna Flateman '04 wins NCAA national title in the 55m dash
2004-05 - Women's Basketball qualifies for NCAA Division III Tournament
2010 - Softball wins NESCAC Championship (First Wesleyan women's team to win a NESCAC title)
2018 - Eudice Chong '18 becomes the first player in collegiate tennis history (male or female) to win four consecutive NCAA Singles Championships
2019 - Ivie Uzamere '20 wins the NCAA weight throw title
2019 - Women's Tennis becomes first women's NCAA Champion in school history and only the second team to win an NCAA title (men's lacrosse in 2018)
2019-22 - Five women's teams (women's lacrosse 2019, women's tennis 2019 + 2021 + 2022, women's soccer 2021) advance to NCAA national semifinal (Final 4)
2022 - Wesleyan's natatorium is officially dedicated as the Webster Family Natatorium, named to recognize distinguished alumnae Susan Webster '77, P'18 and her family - this is the first Wesleyan athletic facility dedicated to a woman
2022 - Grace Devanny '23 becomes the first Cardinal student-athlete (male or female) to earn First Team All-American honors in all 3 seasons (fall, winter, spring) in one academic year
