Biography

Nick Helbig is from Groton, Connecticut, and went to Fitch High School. Before starting football as a junior, he also played baseball, soccer, basketball, and track. He also was an accomplished musician on the saxophone and clarinet, making all the all region jazz band twice and being section leader in a nationally ranked marching band. Nick is studying economics and plans to work in finance as well as continue to work in the marine industry like the rest of his family. Nick’s favorite part of Wesleyan has been the lifelong friendships he has made from being on the team and being surrounded by highly ambitious people. On the field Nick was the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and was selected first team all NESCAC in both of his first two seasons.
