Chuck Salvi will enter his second year as the Wesleyan goalkeeper coach in 2016. Salvi grew up playing club and high school soccer in Albuquerque, N.M. and led his high school team to its first state and district championship. He was named Second Team All-State and First Team All-District as goalkeeper. He played college soccer at Franklin Pierce where he appeared in two NCAA Division II Tournaments before going on to graduate from the University of New Mexico. He played semi-professional soccer in the NPSL for the Las Vegas Strikers and the Albuquerque Asylum. While playing with the Asylum, he was part of a team that was crowned South West Division Champions and second in the western conference in 2006. In 2007, he was named Fox Soccer Channel player of the game against the Santa Cruz Breakers. 



Salvi started his coaching career with the New Mexico Rush Soccer Club as a head coach for the NM Rush Hope ’92 Girls and Assistant Director of Goalkeeping. He worked with the New Mexico Olympic Development Program as a staff goalkeeper coach. He was a graduate assistant and goalkeeper coach for men's soccer at Eastern New Mexico University, the 2011 Lone Star Conference Champions (first time in school history). He also coached at Yeshiva University as an assistant and goalkeeping coach for men's soccer, and at Ridgefield (Conn.) High School as an assistant coach for girls’ varsity soccer.
