Destiny Helmedach

Destiny Helmedach enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Wesleyan softball program in 2026.
 
Helmedach excelled collegiately playing for New England College as an All-NECC performer at third base. She closed out her career as the all-time hits leader with 195 while also graduating as the NEC all-time leader in runs, RBI (133), walks (66), sacrifice flys (9), games played (181) and at-bats (533). Helmedach played for six seasons (2018-23) at NEC and hit at least .333 in all six seasons with a career-best .405 batting average coming in 2021.
 
She assisted with the Middletown Monarchs softball program in the 2025 season where she collaborated with fellow coaches to design practice drills and game plans, evaluated individual player skills and strengths, developed relationships with athlete’s families, and cultivated a culture of respect for others and hard work ethic with the Monarchs.
 
A native of Middlefield, Connecticut, Helmedach earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from NEC in 2021 and her MBA in sport and recreation management from NEC in 2023.
