Alex Cavaliere is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the Wesleyan men's and women's golf teams in 2023-24.
Cavaliere graduated from Penn State University with a major in Professional Golf Management, where research on the biomechanics of the golf swing serves as a cornerstone of the curriculum. He completed additional coursework to earn minor degrees and certificates from Penn State in four areas: Kinesiology, Sports Studies, Business, and Event Management. Alex is currently a Golf Teaching Professional at Lyman Orchards Golf Club.
Alex has designations as both a PGA Teaching & Coaching Specialist and a PGA Golf Operations Specialist. His additional golf teaching and coaching designations include the Titleist Performance Institute’s Body-Swing ConnectionTM Level 1 Certification and Level 2 Certifications in four areas: Fitness, Golf, Power, and Junior Player Development. Alex is an Operation 36 Certified Pro, a U.S. Kids Certified Coach, SuperSpeed Level 3 Certified, and Boditrak Level 1 Certified. He also holds a National Coach Certification from the Human Kinetics Coach Education Center.
Alex is both the captain of the 17U PGA Jr. League all-star program at Lyman Orchards and the assistant coach of the 13U PGA Jr. League all-star program. Alex’s 17U all-star team won state championships in 2022 and 2023, and the 13U team finished second in both the state and regional championships in 2023. Alex completed internships at Hartford Golf Club (West Hartford, CT) and Round Hill Club (Greenwich, CT) prior to Lyman Orchards / Wesleyan.
