Jacob Ferland enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Wesleyan men’s basketball team in the 2026-2027 season. 

He joins the Cardinals after serving as the Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach at the University of Saint Joseph (CT) during the 2025-26 season. In his role with the Blue Jays, Ferland supported the program’s daily operations, contributing to travel logistics, scheduling, opponent scouting, and game preparation. He assisted with player development and led individual workouts while helping the Blue Jays to a 20-win season and an appearance in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship game. Ferland also supervised high-level prep school tournaments as the Event Site Director while at USJ. 

Prior to his time at USJ, Ferland spent three seasons with the Springfield College men’s basketball program. He served as Student Coach and Head Manager, working closely with the coaching staff in practice planning, player development, game preparation, and team operations. He managed content creation and graphic design for the program’s social media platforms. During his time at Springfield, Ferland assisted at the training camps for both USA Basketball’s Men’s and Women’s 3v3 Olympic teams. 

Ferland earned a Bachelor of Science in Movement and Sports Studies from Springfield College with minors in Athletic Coaching and Business Management. He currently resides in Berlin, Connecticut.
