Pam Saunders

Pam Saunders joined the Wesleyan men's and women's squash coaching staff as an assistant coach and is in her first season with the Cardinals in 2025-26. Saunders brings a wealth of experience as both a championship-winning player and a highly accomplished collegiate coach.

A graduate of Trinity College, Saunders enjoyed an outstanding playing career, reaching the national finals all four years and helped the Bantams capture back-to-back national championships. Her time at Trinity, one of the most successful programs in collegiate squash history, laid the foundation for her deep understanding of team culture, high performance, and sustained success.

Following her playing career, Saunders earned her Master’s Degree in Coaching and Sport Leadership from Smith College, where she focused on athlete development, performance psychology, and leadership in sport.

Saunders began her collegiate coaching career at Mount Holyoke College, where she guided the team from a national ranking of No. 26 to No. 11 in just four seasons — one of the most significant performance jumps in the program’s history. She then joined Yale University, where her impact was immediate: during her tenure, the men’s and women’s teams each won a national championship, and together they claimed a combined five Ivy League titles.
