WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. –
Danielle Landis '25 made history for the Wesleyan women's golf team, becoming the first Cardinal in program history to take first place as she finished atop the player leaderboard at the two-day Williams Classic, leading the Cardinals to a fourth place finish out of eight teams.
Landis was stellar in the tournament, firing an even round 71 on Sunday, recording the low round of the tournament and the lowest round in the history of Wesleyan women's golf to finish ahead of Paige Cerminaro of SUNY Cortland by two strokes. Landis tallied four birdies with four bogeys and 10 pars in her record-breaking 71. She opened the tournament with a +9 (80) on Saturday as she improved nine strokes from her first to second round performance.
Milan Yorke '25 recorded a two-day total of 174, recording one birdie in each round to finish as the second-best on the team over the weekend. Also scoring for the Cardinals was
Maggie Monaghan '24 who went 88-90 for a two-day total of 180 while
Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 was consistent, shooting 90 and 91 in the first and second round, respectively, to give her a two-day total of 181. Also scoring for the Cardinals was
Lily Goldfine '25 who finished with a 187 in the tournament.
Wesleyan's final competition of the 2021 fall slate is Oct. 9-10 as the Cardinals head to Scarborough, Maine for the NESCAC Fall Qualifier at the Nonesuch River Golf Course.
