MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The women's swimming and diving team put together a good showing in Saturday's CT Cup, placing third out of eight teams that were competing. They totaled 444 points, beating out fourth place finisher Connecticut College (360 points). Hamilton College took second with 498 points, while Coast Guard placed first with 513 points. Wesleyan finished first in two events, both of which were won by
Mengmeng Gibbs '22. She won the 50 breast with a time of 31.21. She followed it up with a first place finish in the 100 breast finishing in 1:08.65 which just edged out Hamilton's Irene Keh (1:08.77).
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The women finished fifth in the 200 Medley Relay with a final time of 1:50.77 (Izzy Pennington '24, Gibbs, Victoria Carroll '24, and Megan Bauerle '24)
- Ainsley Dodson '25 gave Wesleyan their second Top 5 finisher in the 50 breast, as she came in fourth with a time of 32.37. She also put together a time of 4:46.85 in the 400 IM which was good for third
- The Cardinals performed extremely well in the 1-meter Dive, having three Top 5 finishers with Zoe Paglia '23 (207.35) coming in second, Carolina Crosby '25 (184.50) coming in fourth, and Talia Lanckton '22 (180.40) finishing in fifth
- Lanckton and Crosby continued their stellar days with top three finishes in the 3-meter Dive as well. Lanckton finished runner-up in the event (185.35), and Crosby finished third (165.85)
- The women's 200 free relay finished second with a time of 1:40.12 that just fell short of Coast Guard's first place time of (1:39.74)

th where they will match up with WPI, Williams and Tufts in a quad meet.
