WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wesleyan men's track and field team put a bow on the 2021 season on Saturday with an unscored tri-meet at Williams that also featured Amherst. The Cardinals posted three first place finishes on the day including Sam Musto '24 (400m), Nick Carulli '22 (110m hurdles) and Connell Oberman '22 (discus).

HIGHLIGHTS:

• The first-year Musto started the day with his first career victory as he clocked in with a personal-best time of 50.45 seconds, taking first out of 11 competitors in the 400m
• Carulli picked up his third career victory (first since 2019) as he was the first to cross the line in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.93 seconds
• Oberman was one of the top throwers in the NESCAC all season and he capped the spring season with his first victory of 2021, throwing 37.52m in the discus to top a field of 10. He also added a runner-up performance in the hammer throw, tossing a new personal-best with a mark of 37.61m
• Kevin DeLoughry '21 was the runner-up in the 400m as he was just 0.13 seconds behind Musto with a time of 50.58 seconds
• Christian Denny '22was great once again the sprints as he was runner-up in the 100m (11.09 seconds) and third in the 200m (22.91) as he closes out 2021 finishing no lower than fourth in any of his eight combined appearances in the sprint events
• Will Ratner '22 was Top 5 in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:05.78 to take fifth place out of 20 runners
• Wesleyan's 4x400m relay team of DeLoughry, Musto, Kyron Roberts '21 and Aaron Foote '24 were runner-up in the event with a time of 3:26.36
• Charles Kauffman '24 closed out his season with a personal-best in the discus with a mark of 29.15m
