MIDDLEBURY, VT. – The Wesleyan women's golf team competed in the George Phinney Golf Classic at The Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont this weekend. The team played against 11 other schools over the two days on the course, placing 10
th. As a team they shot a 720 (+205) through Sunday.
Kayla Howell '26 led the Cardinals on the weekend, shooting a 175 (+33). She began the weekend with an 86 (+15) which was good for 29
th before finishing the weekend by shooting an 89 (+18). Howell continues to be a key contributor for the Cardinals, placing a team-best 36
th place.
Chanel Hong '26 and
Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 were consistent in their two rounds this weekend for the Cardinals. Hong (88-89-177) and Neishabouri (92-91-183) finished second and third respectfully for Wesleyan. Hong (+35) was able to place t-41
st while Neishabouri (+41) snagged t-53
rd overall.
The final two golfers for the Cardinals were
Rosie Leonard '26 (89-97-186) and
Mia Bardinelli '26 (91-103-194). Both started out with good first rounds that placed them both in the top 50 after Saturday. Leonard finished with a 186 (+44) which was good for t-56
th, while Bardinelli ended with a 194 (+52) placing her 62
nd.
The women's golf team will return to the course next weekend (Oct.8-9) to compete in the NESCAC Qualifiers at the Cold Spring Country Club in Belchertown, Massachusetts.
