MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Wesleyan baseball team has announced its 2022 schedule which includes 31 games over a span of seven weeks as the Cardinals first head to Tucson, Arizona for the team's annual spring break trip wherein they will play nine games. The Cardinals are also slated for 12 home fixtures including six in a nine-day span in the final stages of the regular season.
At the start of the 2022 season on March 11 in Arizona, the season opener against Chapman will signal the Cardinals' first 'normal' start to a season since 2019 as Wesleyan saw their entire 2020 season canceled due to COVID while the 2021 season featured socially distanced games with players fully masked, it didn't start until the beginning of April and saw the Cardinals play just 12 games. A return to normalcy is what's motivating this year's Wesleyan baseball team which will be playing in their first full season in three years.
