NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's track & field team placed 14
th out of 20 teams in the two-day Silfen Invite hosted by Connecticut College on Friday and Saturday.
Christian Denny '22 starred for the Cardinals in the 100m, running his fastest time of the season at 10.98 seconds to take fourth place out of 62 sprinters in the event.
In the high jump,
Noah Olsen '22 was at his best, landing a mark of 1.85m to finish in third place out of 19 jumpers. This was the highest individual finish on the weekend for the Cardinals in any event.
Javier Orellana '25 placed in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 13.35m that earned him an eighth place result in a field of 37 throwers.
Connell Oberman '22 also placed in both the discus and hammer throw, recording personal-best marks in both events. He started with a 40.28m in the discus while he threw 43.07m in the hammer throw, taking eighth place overall in each event.
Kyle Roshankish '24 recorded a Top 10 result in the 200m as he crossed the line in 22.40 seconds while Denny was right behind in 12
th place and a time of 22.44.
Aaron Foote '24 was solid in the 400m, just missing a Top 10 finish, placing 12
th overall as he crossed the line in 51.15 seconds.
George Lepska '25 ran his fastest 800m time of the outdoor season, posting 1:57.36 to place 22
nd overall in a field of 105 runners.
Dale Ross '22 ran the fastest 5000m of his career, crossing the line in 15:07.85 to take 20
th place in the event.
Nigel Hayes '23 was just one spot out of earning points for Wesleyan as he clocked in at 1:00.13 to place ninth out of 26.
Next up for the Cardinals is another in-state trip, this time to Trinity on Saturday, April 23.
