AMHERST, MA – The Wesleyan men's track and field team competed in the Amherst Spring Fling Saturday morning through the afternoon. They had three first place finishes in the invitational, along with four other top three placements. This invitational did not keep track of team score, and only recorded individual results.
The three first place finishers for the Cardinals were the 4x400m relay team (
Nigel Hayes '23,
Kyle Roshankish '24,
Will Ruden-Sella '25,
Emmett Perry '25),
Noah Olsen '22, and
Javier Orellana '25. The 4x400 relay team took first place with a time of 3:26.45.
Noah Olsen was tied for first in the high jump with a height of 1.85m. Lastly,
Javier Orellana was the first place finisher in the shotput, throwing for a distance of 12.98m.
Wesleyan also had some top three finishers in
Christian Denny '22 in two events,
George Lepska '25 and
Noah Olsen.
Christian Denny took 2
nd in the 100m dash with a time of 11.24 along with finishing 3
rd in the 200m dash coming in at 22.64.
George Lepska finished 2
nd in the 1500m run, clocking in at a time of 4:01.28 which was just 0.26 behind the leader. Then Olsen continued his stellar day with a 2
nd place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.56m.
Wesleyan also had five competitors finish 4
th in their respective events:
Will Ratner '22 (4
th in the 1500m, 4:06.40),
Aaron Foote '24 (4
th in the 400m, 50.99),
Nigel Hayes (4
th in the 400m hurdles, 59.66),
Connell Oberman '22 (4
th in Discus Throw, 37.57m), and
James Giokaris '24 (4
th in Javelin Throw, 43.13m).
Men's track and field has their next meet on April 15
th where they will compete in the Silfen Invite hosted by Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut.
