WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Men's track and field competes at the New England Division III Championships Friday and Saturday. The men competed in a variety of events against 30 other schools from around New England, taking home 14
th place with a score of 16. The Cardinals scored their 16 points in three events: the 100 meters, the 200 meters, and the 4 x 800 meters relay.
The men scored their 16 points through three different events.
Christian Denny '22 took 2
nd in the 100 meters with a time of 10.90 seconds which was good enough to give the Cardinals eight points. Denny also placed well in the 200 meters, taking 1
st in section 2 to give the Cardinals another two points. The final six points that the Cardinals earned this weekend came via the 4 x 800-meter relay. Wesleyan team which was made up of
Ethan Walker '22,
Jasper Shapiro '23, Nathan Fogarty '25, and
George Lepska '25 placed 3
rd with a time of 7:56.95.
Wesleyan had some other athletes compete in the New England Division III Championships as well. Lepska also competed in the 800 meter run, placing 1
st in his section with a time of 1:56.47. Walker competed with him in section 1 coming in 6
th. The trio of
Miles Aronow '22, Fogarty, and Aiden Ward all competed in the 1500 meter run coming in 5
th, 9
th and 10
th respectively.
Dale Ross '22 ran the 5000 meter while
Nick Carulli '22 came in 3
rd in his section in the 110m hurdles. Finishing off the Wesleyan athletes,
Noah Olsen '22 competed in the high jump and long jump while Connnel Oberman '22 came in 5th in Flight 1 for the discus throw.
Next up for the men's track and field team is a trip to Smithfield, RI to compete in the New England Championships on May 13
th and 14
th.
