MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's track & field team was led by their sprinters at a home indoor invite on Saturday from the Bacon Field House.
With a limited squad competing, the Cardinals still managed several notable results including a first place finish in the 4x400m relay by
Sophia Mack '26,
Imagen Walters '26,
Maya Nikoukari '26, and
Rachel Masterson '26 as the group legged out a time of 4:24.13 to beat runner-up Eastern Conn. State by nearly two seconds.
Erika Kluge '23 and
Fiona Carroll '25 both hit 3.20m with their pole vaults. Mack was seen all throughout the day as the freshman landed a fourth place finish in the 200m with a time of 27.71 seconds before later taking seventh in the long jump at 4.29m.
Mallory Elliott '23 took ninth out of 27 in the shot put with a mark of 9.23m.
Jane Kakalec '26 combined with Nikoukari to finish third and fourth, respectively, in the 600m. Kakalec clocked in at 1:51.06 while Nikoukari finished in 1:51.13.
Sara Greene '23 was the top finisher for the Cardinals in the one mile, posting a time of 5:49.87 while
Quinn Meinhardt '24 was sixth with a time of 5:57.46.
Another contingent of Cardinals who had an off day today while ship up to Boston to compete in Middlebury's New England Small College Invitational on Sunday at 9 AM from the Track at New Balance.
