MIDDLETOWN, CT. - The Wesleyan men's swimming & diving team hosted Hamilton in a dual meet on Wednesday night from the Webster Family Natatorium. The Cardinals (2-5) defeat the Continentals (1-3) by a score of 137-124, with Wesleyan having eight first-place finishes.
Mason Polaner '24 led the way for the Cardinals with three first place finishes. Polaner began his day with victory in the 200 yard free ((1:45.24), followed by another top finish in the 25 yard free edging out the competition with a time of 10.23. His final first place finish came in the 500 yard free, clocking in with a time of 4:49.36.
Harrison Hong '25 had a pair of first place finishes Wednesday. The sophomore captured first in the 25 yard back (11.51) and the 50 yard back (24.44), while placing 2
nd in the 100 yard IM with a time of 54.34.
Sebastian Adames '25 also performed well in the backstroke events, finishing in 2
nd in both the 25 (12.08) and 50 yard back (25.19) behind his Cardinal teammate.
Jake Rybczyk '24 was the only competitor in the 1 (238.95) and 3 meter dive (246.22), taking first in both.
Richard Ettinger '23 managed a 2
nd place finish in the 50 fly (24.09), along with a pair of 3
rd place finishes in the 50 yard back and 100 yard IM. Wesleyan's best 100 yard free relay team (Polaner,

Hartmut Doerwaldt '25) took first in the event with a time of 40.80.
Wesleyan leaves for a training trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida Thursday and will return to Middletown later this week. There next meet will be a home tri-meet against Roger Williams and Springfield on Saturday January 14
th.
