MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – In a final tune-up before Thanksgiving break, the Wesleyan men's swim team played host to Amherst in a dual meet from the Webster Family Natatorium on Monday night. The Mammoths claimed a 178-48 win in the Little 3 showdown.
Harrison Hong '25 led the Cardinals with 16 total points on the night, including a first place finish in the 100 back. Hong's time of 53.41 seconds bested Andrew Yuen of Amherst by 0.25 seconds. He combined that first place finish with a third in the 400 IM, clocking in at 4:22.83, while he was runner-up in the 50 fly with a time of 22.98 seconds.
Fritz Bretall '25 and
Mason Polaner '24 both finished with five points on the night. Bretall was runner-up in the 50 back, placing second with a time of 24.99 seconds. Polaner was third-fastest in the 50 free, touching the wall in 22.30 seconds to earn three points. He later took fourth in the 100 free with a time of 48.36 seconds.
Daniel Isman '26 placed fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.
Sekander Ali '25 was sixth-fastest in the 200 free (earning two points in the team scoring), as he finished in 1:52.94. The 50 back featured a fourth place result from
Fa'alataitaua Fitisemanu '24 (26.8 seconds) and fifth from
Lucas Pirner '25 (28.40).
Ryan Kobayashi '25 claimed fourth place in the 100 fly (55.12).
Daniel Chan '27 was fifth-best overall in the 50 breast at 28.13 seconds.
The Cardinals are back in action on December 1-2 with the Connecticut Cup, held at the Webster Family Natatorium.
