PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Wesleyan women's track & field team fielded a small group of competitors at the Brown Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals managed 35.5 points to take fourth place in the team scoring out of six teams. Brown claimed first place with 172 points on the day.
Highlighting the day for Wesleyan was the pole-vaulting duo of
Erika Kluge '23 and
Fiona Carroll '25 who both set new personal-bests with marks of 3.25m, tying for the top spot in the event.
Sophia Mack '26 and
Rex Beaver '26 both qualified for the 60m finals, with Mack placing seventh with a time of 8.40 seconds while Beaver finished eighth at 8.43.
Mack was eighth-fastest in the 300m, crossing the line in 43.57 seconds.
Jane Kakalec '26 placed seventh in the 1000m with a time of 3:22.04. Beaver finished up her day with an eighth-place showing in the shot put with a toss of 10.47m.
The championship portion of the indoor season begins next weekend at the New England Division III Championships on February 24-25.
