CORTLAND, NY. – The Wesleyan women's golf team opened their spring season competing in The Martin and Wallace Invite at the Cortland Country Club in Cortland, New York over the weekend. The Cardinals placed 7
th out of the seven teams competing, finishing with a team score of 658 (+82). Williams claimed first place shooting a 582 (+6), while Amherst placed 2
nd with a score of 585 (+9).
Kayla Howell '26 led the way for the Cardinals, shooting a +12 on the weekend (77-79-156), and was the only Cardinal to shoot under an 80 in either round. Howell finished t-18
th on the individual leaderboard with a final score of 156 (+12).
Rosie Leonard '26 (+19, 82-81-163) and
Jacqueline Neishabouri '25 (+20, 83-81-164) were steady contributors for the Cards, slightly improving from the first to second round. Leonard finished 39
th on the leaderboard, while Neishabouri came in right behind her in 40
th.
Mia Bardinelli '26(+31, 93-82-175) and
Milan Yorke '25 (+33, 93-84-177) showed great improvement from the first to second round of the Martin and Wallace Invite. Bardinelli's 82 in the second round was the 3
rd best for the Cardinals on the day.
Wesleyan will return to the course next weekend where they will compete in the Jack Leeman Invitational in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
