MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan University spring season season varsity teams put a total of 147 student-athletes on the 2023 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. Tufts ranks first in the conference with 213 student-athletes on the All-Academic list, while Williams is second with 212. Wesleyan's 147 selections ranks seventh behind Tufts, Williams, Middlebury (181), Bates (159) and Bowdoin (148).
In order to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfer students are eligible as long as they have completed at least one year of study at the institution.
The Cardinals were led by the men's lacrosse program who had 29 honorees followed by baseball (20), women's track & field (20), women's lacrosse (17), men's crew (15), men's outdoor track & field (14), women's crew (13), softball (5), women's golf (4), women's tennis (4), men's golf (2), and men's tennis (2) - who made up the 147 total honorees. There are 14 student-athletes - Kate Balicki '23 (women's lacrosse), Augusta Burhans '23 (women's track & field), Grace Devanny '23 (women's track & field), Oliver Diamond '23 (men's crew), Caitlyn Ferrante '23 (women's tennis), Gabby Harris '23 (women's track & field), Joe Kagan '23 (men's crew), Kenzie Kelly '25 (women's track & field), Olivia Lai '23 (women's lacrosse), Elizabeth Myers '23 (women's crew), Emmett Nunes '23 (men's crew), Kiara Tangney '25 (women's lacrosse), Nika Vesely '25 (women's tennis), and Kristina Yu '22 (women's tennis) - who are All-Academic and All-NESCAC selections.
