WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – A dazzling display that featured two sub-80 rounds from
Kayla Howell '26 paced the Wesleyan women's golf team, leading the Cardinals to a tie for 11
th place overall out of 22 teams at the Williams Invitational over the weekend.
Howell carded an opening round 77 (+6) and followed with a 79 (+8) to finish +14 for the weekend (77-79-156) and in a tie for 19
th place in the player leaderboard. She opened with two birdies and nine pars in round one before recording three birdies in a six-hole span in round two.
Mia Holbrook '27 was the next-highest finisher for the Cardinals in the player standings as the first-year shot an opening round 83 before going for an 82 in round two to finish +23 for the weekend with 165 strokes. She totaled 19 pars over the 36 holes played on the weekend.
Chanel Hong '26 placed third-best on the team, carding an 87-85-172 for the weekend while
Milan Yorke '25 (88-89-177) and
Maggie Monaghan '24 (94-96-190) rounded out the lineup for the Cardinals.
Competing as an individual,
Mia Bardinelli '26 had a solid weekend, shooting an opening round 85 before shooting 83 on Sunday. Her 168 stroke total for the weekend put her in a tie for 62
nd place overall in the player board.
Wesleyan continues its fall slate with a tournament on their home course, the Lyman Orchards Jones Course in Middlefield, this weekend on Saturday (11 AM) and Sunday (12:30 PM).
